Frequently Asked Questions

It is located in the Clifton Park Town Hall on the corner of Vischer Ferry Road and Clifton Park Center Road.

Couple needs to come in together and we ask that you call 518-371-6681 ahead of time to schedule an appointment.

1. Photo ID driver’s license or passport
2. State Issued (not hospital) Birth certificate ( if not in English need certified transcript in English) or Naturalization papers
3. Social Security Number (card not required)
4. Need to know city and state where applicants born.
5. Country of birth of  parents
6. Parents’ full names including maiden names, middle names and the correct spelling
7. If not first marriage, need final divorce decree for all divorces and/or date of death of spouse, copy of death certificate required
8. Applicants should be prepared to choose a “surname”
9. The fee is $32. Cash, check, Visa, Mastercard and Discover
10. License must be obtained at least 24 hrs. in advance of the ceremony
11. License is good for 60 days

NYS requires dogs to be licensed at four months.  Dog licenses are issued at the Town Clerk’s Office at which time proof rabies vaccination and spaying or neutering is required Fee for spayed/neutered dog is $6.00, if not $11.50.  Dog License Application

Current license and proof of rabies vaccination is required.  Applicants from out of town need to bring current license from municipality and proof of rabies.
