Business owners Jim Zappone, Zappone Motors and Jim Fron of Dolce & Biscotti will disuss their experience with the SBA PPP and current business operations. Saratoga County Clerk Craig Hayner will discuss the gradual reopening of DMV operations in Saratoga County.

The Clifton Park Industrial Development Agency (IDA) has a core goal of seeking to promote Town prosperity, through the creation and advancement of a healthy business climate, supporting job creation and retention. The IDA utilizes a variety of economic development tools, financial incentive programs and resources permitted within the scope of the Public Authorities Law to build customized packages from project concept through construction and sustained operation fostering the general prosperity of the Town.
Due to current New York State orders, businesses that specialize in exercise, such as fitness, yoga, dance, and exercise classes have been unable to open their buildings for use.
At the July 20, 2020 regularly scheduled meeting of the Clifton Park Town Board, Supervisor Barrett led a discussion regarding options to assist local businesses affected by the State orders. The Town Board unanimously decided to allow Clifton Park businesses to operate immediately on outdoor public property. Clifton Park businesses that would like to hold outdoor classes must receive a permit through the Town’s normal application process. The permit is free for classes of less than twenty people. Classes of twenty or more will continue to pay a nominal permit fee. Classes will be limited to fifty attendees.
Gyms and fitness/yoga centers have been approved for opening by NYS. Clifton Park will be providing personnel and other support to ensure the inspections are performed in a timely manner. The gyms have a short window of time to have their inspection completed per NYS regulations. Clifton Park businesses have been able to reserve space, free of charge, on public property to conduct classes. But, the weather will be changing.
