COVID-19 cases continue to be monitored closely in Saratoga County by Saratoga County Public Health Services (SCPHS) and its team of contact tracers.
Last week, new COVID-19 cases were linked to college students returning to their home communities and a cluster at Saratoga Bridges. SCPHS reports that no further Saratoga Bridges clients have tested positive for COVID-19 and only two additional staff members have tested positive. Mitigation efforts at Saratoga Bridges have effectively contained the spread of the virus.
While several college students returning to the community have tested positive for COVID-19, cases are increasingly sporadic.
This week’s new cases have been attributed to small family clusters. Notably, there have been increased cases in rural communities of Saratoga County. Also, the majority of new cases have been in the younger population — individuals under the age of 30.
SCPHS again urges the public to wear a mask or face covering, maintain social distancing, wash hands frequently, and avoid large gatherings or crowds. Additionally, it is strongly advised that residents get a flu shot soon.

Officials from Saratoga County and community partners will be hosting a Facebook Live event on Monday, September 21, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. to answer questions from residents related to COVID-19. The hour-long event will be hosted on the Saratoga County Office of Emergency Services Facebook page and feature:
