Curbside Pick Up Will Begin May 2nd and Run Through May 21st
The Town of Clifton Park will offer a free curbside bulk waste pickup this Spring during the month of May. Two companies submitted responses to the RFP. Twin Bridges Waste and Recycling will be conducting the pick-up after submitting the lowest bid.
Residents will receive important information about the service two weeks prior to Twin Bridges visiting their home. The mailing will inform residents when they can expect to have their items picked up, along with a list of items that are either eligible or not allowed to be included in the program. For example, electronics cannot be picked up as part of this program. Information will also be shared on the Town website and Facebook page as details become available. The Town will be divided into three geographical areas. Each area will be assigned a pick-up week. Therefore, depending on the location of your home, pick-up weeks will vary. Residents will be asked to place their waste at their curb the Sunday evening of their assigned week. A map showing the collection area zones and dates of collection is available on www.cliftonpark.org or by using the following link: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1DoASsnidbZF4TsM751hvWP6Y6hcwcna3&ll=42.854821176393145%2C-73.833189&z=11
The Town Transfer Station on Vischer Ferry Road accepts bulk items for disposal throughout the year. A Transfer Station permit fee is not required to dispose of bulk waste, but each item will incur a reasonable fee. For a listing of acceptable items and the applicable fee schedule, residents may visit the Transfer Station’s section of the Town’s website at https://www.cliftonpark.org/departments/transfer-station.html Items such as air conditioners, refrigerators and other appliances can be recycled for free at the Transfer Station.
The Town also has a partnership with Habitat for Humanity and accepts donations of specific items at the Transfer Station. For information regarding eligible items and how to donate, residents can see a helpful flyer: https://www.cliftonpark.org/document-center/transfer-station/1799-clifton-park-and-restore-flyer/file.html for details. Habitat for Humanity (HFH) may even come to your home in Clifton Park and pick-up items for free. For more information on this service, please contact the HFH ReStore at 518-275-6638.
